The clinic in Esperanza blessed many today, 27 patients. It is good to see patients come and get healthy. Each day we serve we learn a little more. Today we learned that when people are sick and in need they come to the clinic from as far as 45 minutes to one hour away. They come by car, motorcycle, donkeys and horses and even by foot!
Thank you Lord for letting us serve the poor and sick! Friday, February 10. 2012Friends are awesome!
Sometimes we work for the Lord on our own and sometimes we need the help of others....Thank you Lord for great friends....Michael and Laura Boisclair and Larry and Pearl Friesen, could not have accomplished much today at all without them........The Lord is good!!!

Is it a full moon ??!! Strange day in Esperanza clinic -- tried to help a man today from the village who told us he took too much of his medication yesterday : after an IV,meds, food, care .. he ended up freaking out, raging, passing out, walking out and threatening my staff with a machete. Closed the security door the rest of the day until we finished consults .. will keep our eye out for him. Have to pray about whether we will accept him in the clinic again as a patient after the threat .. maybe after a pat-down. Ha ! Everyday is an adventure and praise God for His protection

Thursday, February 2. 2012Los Algodones Clinic
Prayer request for a patient in clinic Los Algodones -- Yasmin, a 30 yr old man who lives in Sosua came today to consult - on January 11 he was attacked by another man who used a machete - cut is forehead, face and his arms ... he had to have both arms amputated at the elbow. His wounds have healed nicely but you can see the sadness on his face from this trauma. He has 6 children and needs our prayers for the future. A reminder to count your blessings .... ><>

Wow -- what a day in Paraiso today ! Please pray for the people in La Grua, alot of people coming with, shall I say, stomach problems ....... there has been recent cases of cholera there so please pray the it is not spreading. We had 35 today in the clinic ....
Update on Elizabet, she is in the hospital and they have her on IV and antibiotics - they have removed more maggots from her head and they want her to stay 2 weeks. I am told her skin is looking better with the intravenous antibiotics - all of her tests are good, she just has anemia. So, PLEASE keep her and her mother in your prayers - we are assisting them as we can to buy food and transportation back and forth for family. Saturday, January 28. 2012God
I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

Oh, how time flies !
I very often forget to blog on this website as you can see ... last entry was September 2011 Both clinics are running well - we currently consult with approx. 140 people weekly and the Lord is blessing those in need of medical care. We are so blessed to be working in His will -- no where else to be ! Our staff is great and the people coming to both clinics appear to enjoy their visit, they keep coming back ! And telling their friends and neighbors ! God Bless ! Tina Friday, January 27. 2012Paradise Clinic
Was an interesting day to say the least in Clinica Villa Paraiso -- 27 patients and little Elizabet came at the end of session with her mom and about 10 neighbors. After checking her over .. beside her terrible skin disorder, she had a hole on the top of her head with fly larvae living in it ... we got 8 out and pray that was all .... we will be following her and checking on her biweekly to get her out of this condition. Please keep this ministry in your prayers -
Sunday, September 18. 2011Updates on the ministry
Well..... it has been a while since we have blogged....sorry for that. Here are just a few points of what has been happening.
We are now running, operating, and raising the support for two clinics. Paradise clinic which has been open since January of this year is serving the people very well. We have well over 1000 patients and have been able to bless many lives with basic medical care and treatment. We are however still in need of a sponsor for this ministry. Eseranza clinic has been officially turned over to us at Willing Servant Ministries. What does that mean? Well it means that the clinic will operate the same as it has for the last 2 + years, but that Willing Servant Ministries is now offically running, operating, and raising the support for this clinic. We do have 1 faithful sponsor and are thankful to Clearview Community Church for their partnership with us to bring health care to the poor people of Los Algodones and many surrounding communities. We have almost 3000 patient records now. Without financial support we would not be able to bring these Medical services to the poor people here on the North Coast. We want to thank all our supporters both those in prayer and financial support. We do it together!!! We are still working with Mission teams and to date have worked with 12 this year, with 3 more teams to come. Without these wonderful teams we could not accomplish as much as we do here. Thank you to all the teams and people who come and make all this possible. It really is the Body of Christ at work. We are very close to having Paypal set up on our website so that if people want they can give directly on line. The work here is great, but God supplies all that we need. Please continue to pray for us and the people of the Dominican Republic. God Bless Rob and Tina Sunday, June 26. 2011It's Summertime
I am getting really bad at writing blogs ... not a blog since April, shame on me !
Well, since April things have been going well and the norm. Rob continues to facilitate short term teams and I at the clinics. The first of Mission Direct UK teams have arrived and we are anticipating a wonderful campaign with all their team members this year. Claire continues to work with Mission Direct as a leader in the DR working with Rob - Carys is coming for the summer to help them this year. Michelle, Elio's grandaughter, is working with me in the clinics some of the summer (although I have been gone for most of her time Rob and I left the DR on May 24th for time in Florida - Rob returned to the DR on June 14 without me ;( My mom had knee replacement surgery on June 8th, which we knew about -- although when it came time for us to leave and go back to the DR, there was a greater need for me to stay on in Florida with her for a few more weeks. Rob, Michelle, Claire and the Bosclair's have been taking care of the clinics for me -- and how thankful I am -- to have them there to oversee and help my staff. I miss my DR friends and patients -- but I will be returning on July 12. Mom is still using the walker, doing exercises that are painful right now .. but I am praying for her continued improvement and that she will be well on her way back to independent life when I leave Florida. Each day I see more how the Lord is our sustenance and strength -- when we are weak, He is strong. I am so thankful for His presence with us in our everyday life - walking, guiding and comforting. Faith in Christ is action -- we can believe in Christ with our heads, but we have to come to that point where it is a way of life. The faith that we possess in our heads becomes reality in our lives as we live in obedience to follow His example. Be back soon Dios te bendiga ! Tina Tuesday, April 12. 2011

Well, time to catch you all up ! Sorry we haven't blogged since February - sometimes we get caught up in just day to day things and then at times I just forget !
Both of the clinics are going well - in Algodones we now have over 1850 patient files and in Paradise after just shy of 4 months, we have 600 ! New patients continue to come seeking medical assistance weekly - some with every day pains and others with major problems. In Algodones we are investigating the possibility of surgery for a 52 yr old man named Lionel Asi - he has had an ultrasound and last week a CT scan of his abdomen - the reports show gigantic "cysts" in his abdomen on his kidneys and pancreas. We are seeking further medical advice on how to proceed - or not. Pray with us for guidance in his situation. In Villa Paraiso - we have assisted a 39yr old lady, Cristina Infante, with a surgery to remove a tumor in her neck - we have been praying for her and she came to see us at the clinic this past Tuesday, one day after her surgery ! Today she made the trip back to Santiago to find out the results of the biopsy of the tumor .. we pray the news is good and it is benign. If not, pray with us as to how we can further help her .. It has been very dry here ... no rain to speak of for almost 5 months. The air is filled with dust swirling up from the roads - but I think I prefer that to flooding rains ! but we could use alittle rain We will be leaving the DR on May 26th for a few weeks of R&R in Florida with friends and family - yea ! It also gives us an opportunity to speak and share our ministry here with those at home -- we are excited to see how the Lord will move. I was reading and thinking about faith lately ... and now I see ..... "In order to experience the power of God, we have to be willing to step out in faith, even when it seems there is no way and no solution to the problem at hand and our strength is gone. God will strengthen us as we go. He is the Way Maker and the only thing that really matters is the fact that God sends us." ><> Thursday, February 24. 2011AMAZING!Today, I took the Open Door church team from Canada to the hospital to minister to the sick. This would be their second trip on their 2 week mission trip. We visit the Children's, Woman's, Men's and Maternity wards. I want to share with you what happened today on the Men's ward. Myself, Isachar ( our translator ), and several people from the Open Door team entered into room 5 on the Men's ward and there was only 1 man in this room. So I went over to him and the woman who was with him and right away I noticed that this man was very sick and maybe close to death. I asked the woman what was wrong with him and she told me he had AIDS. I asked him if he was a Christian and he said no. So, I called Isachar and some of the team members over for us to pray for him. Isachar asked him if he wanted to accept Jesus as Savior and he said immediately yes and the man, whose name is Ramon, also said "he was praying for me", as he looked directly at me. Isachar asked me if I had already prayed for this man and I told Isachar no, I had not prayed for him yet. Then Ramon's sister told us how 2 days earlier Ramon had told her that he had a dream and in that dream a man was praying for him, and Ramon followed that with, that I was the man in his dream! Ramon accepted Jesus today! When we would tell him that now he has eternal life with Jesus, he would respond " yes, he was praying for me" as he looked directly at me. This was great because Ramon, who is very near death, suffering with AIDS, became my Brother in Christ today. I was also honored that God thinks enough of me that he put me in someone's dream! Our Lord is so amazing and it has been, and still is, and will always be an honor for me to serve Him all the days of my life!!! Saturday, January 15. 2011The New Year
Happy New Year !
As we usher in the new year - we usher in the beginning of our new ministry of medical assistance in Villa Paraiso ! The clinic is open on Tuesday and Friday each week and so far, after two weeks, we have 125 patients so far ! The news of the clinic has spread outside the village of Paraiso already ! We have folks coming from the surrounding batey's as well - it is such a huge blessing for them to receive not only a consultation but the medications they need to complete a treatment or even a needed IV of fluids/vitamin. In the last two weeks we have kids with tonsilitis, colds, parasites, viral hepatitis and one with typhoid fever that will come next week for an IV to help him battle that problem. We continue to pray for monthly support to come in to sustain this program - to date we have received some one-time gifts but we are in need of monthly supporters who would like to partner with us in this way ! The Lord is good - His will is our desire - to walk in obedience ........ Blessings ! Tina |
